SMPTE Australia Section in conjunction with Studiotech Australia is pleased to be hosting for members and guests, IP Media Infrastructure Workshops in both Sydney and Melbourne.
As part of SMPTE’s ongoing commitment to education and training, these workshops will dispel the confusion surrounding the various IP formats and standards, interoperability, data throughput and data management concerns for use in a Broadcast and Media production IP environment.
There are over 50 high profile broadcasters and media production companies around the globe already using software defined video networking in their IP infrastructure. Fernando Solanes, Evertz’ IP Solutions specialist will take us through a technical and operational presentation and discuss the “Why?, Where?, What? and How?” these companies have adopted this technology. 
Equipment demonstrating the routing/switching of compressed and uncompressed IP Streams through a central hot core managed by a common broadcast management layer and its accompanying NMS will be at the sessions, as well as IP Gateways and an IP Multiviewer.
