SMPTE Members and guests are invited to be part of an interesting evening with National Archives of Australia – Sydney

You all know about film and video material which has gone to landfill and is lost forever.  Then there’s the material which has done the rounds, and looks it.  Tragedy.   The National Archives’ job is to prevent that loss and keep our heritage intact for the future.

NAA Sydney holds significant storage of audio-visual material that includes ABC News Film, News Reels, Screen Australia content, AFTRS programmes, Defence Department and Political Profiles and much, much more.

Media content and storage at NAA is the major reference in Australia’s history with the utilisation of motion picture and Image forms.

Learn how NAA is protecting our valuable assets. Join us on-site and be impressed with the restoration and repurposing work that their team performs utilising locally created software and methodologies.

We’ll get a special guided tour of the cool room and warehouse storage.
