FLASH ANNOUNCEMENT: Now with streaming!

Loudness gets further!!

Due to popular demand, the SMPTE Australia Section meeting on “How Loud is Too Loud?” will be webcast live.

Tune in on Thursday 7 March to http://students.aftrs.edu.au/SMPTE.htm and join us for the next installment on this vitally important topic.

The facility we are using can handle no more than fifty connections, so first in best dressed on the day.

If you can make it to AFTRS to attend in person, there’s still time to advise John Walsh.

So:

How loud is “too loud”?  In the US, you find out by receiving a fine in the mail.  Could this become the case in Australia, and how will the US regulation have an impact on Australian content providers?

With loudness, silence is the wrong move!

This is your opportunity to take a step inside the issue from an Australian perspective and hear from a variety of presenters that represent the production, broadcast and manufacturing industries for a complete look at the issue today and what might evolve in the future.

Proudly brought to you by SMPTE Australia Section and generously sponsored by Harris Broadcast and Techtel.  Join the discussion with your friends and colleagues from SMPTE, AES, ACS and ASSG, followed by cocktails. The evening’s presenters are:

  • Adam Birch, Global Product Marketing Manager, Harris Broadcast (UK)
  • Glenn Carrick, Chair, Free TV Australia Audio Group
  • Gerry Duffy, Labsonics

And we’re promised that the meeting will include a demo or two.
