JOHN BECKHAUS

John started with ABC Television at Gore Hill in Sydney as a Technician in Training. His career of 37 years with the ABC covered working in all areas of Technical Services.

He was a Technical Manager for over six years supervising Master Control and some of the maintenance sections. He also worked for some time in operational areas. He spent four years in the ABC's Training and Development section preparing publications for operational and technical staff as well running training courses.

His career included working with Technical Services in Darwin and at the Commonwealth Games in Brisbane as well as with the ABC's IT section. He is now a retired Broadcast Engineering Officer.
