FRAME SET & MATCH EXPANDS
SYDNEY
 Leading
post production company opens a new level of facilities with an
innovative level of technology and convenience. Only three years
after opening their Northbridge location, leading post production
company Frame Set & Match has today unveiled expanded facilities
taking over another level of their Northbridge premises. The expansion
means increased services to clients, housing a HD Theatrette, sound
mixing on site (in collaboration with Stellar Sound), increased
3D capacity and more client rooms and recreational areas.
Rick Schweikert, Joint Managing Director of FSM says the new facilities
are a huge convenience for clients with sound mixing and design
now available on site.
"A strategic association with Stellar Sound has been developed
whereby Stellar will supply the technology and the operational expertise,
whilst FSM will supply all scheduling and coordination," says
Schweikert. "The combination is a unique opportunity to enjoy
the best of both the video and audio worlds."

excited about the partnership, with the new sound facility aptly
named Stellar at fsm."
The HD theatrette is also a new addition to FSM's arsenal of facilities.
It will be utilised primarily in the finishing of feature film work,
short films, as well as TV commercials and series. An increased
recognition from producers that High Definition can be used as a
viable production tool for cinema and TV has seen interest grow
enormously. The HD suite will house FSM's most recent purchase Discreet's
Fire, the non-compressed finishing system for digital cinema, high
definition and standard definition television.
Feature films such as The Quiet American and Rabbit Proof Fence
have been completed in HD for delivery to international markets.
Short films Roundabout and Green Eyes have also seen the benefit
of using this technology prior to being recorded back to 35mm film
for theatrical release. The combination of FSM's Millennium telecine
and Fire also allows for high resolution scanning and finishing,
a process FSM believes will open many opportunities for all styles
of production.
 Other
technology housed in the new HD suite includes, JVC DLA HD Projector,
Sony HD Monitoring, Panasonic HD D5, Sony HD Cam, HD Routing and
surround sound.
FSM co-owner, Stephen Dunn sees the investment in HD as an important
element of FSM's future.
"HD is the future of television post production both in Australia
and internationally," he says. "As we strive for improvements
in quality of post production techniques, HD offers all the flexibility
that we need to produce world-class content that allows the opportunity
to cover all delivery formats. It also offers a significant improvement
in applications for cinema release as well as a viable alternative
for the production of feature films on HD instead of blowing up
from Super 16mm. 2K data techniques are available with the use of
Fire and this is becoming more and more popular for many cinema
productions."
Glenn Holmes from the Design Department was commissioned to design
the new facility expansions. He was previously responsible for the
design and fit out of FSM's entire Northbridge location two years
ago. The new level retains the same outstanding functionality, layout
and design elements.
