MITC
- Media Industry Technologist Certification
MITC Detailed Process Map

MITC Organisational Roles
With reference to the MITC Detailed Process Map, the organisational
roles within the MITC Process are as follows:
- a) Industry: The people, organisations, associations,
societies etc that constitute the Media Industry in Australia
and in particular, those that understand what is required for
the industry.
- b) Education: The education system in Australia.
The Federal Vocation, Education and Training (VET) system is responsible
for establishing the Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF)
which defines nationally recognised qualifications (also known
as Certificate levels, diplomas, etc.) and the Australian Quality
Training Framework (AQTF) which is the process that registers
training organisations. The registration is performed at a state
level, but required to be Federally consistent. This means that
an AQF certificate from one location will be meaningful at the
same level at another location. The components and relationships
within the Education box change according to the education level
under discussion, such as Higher education versus VET education
etc, and the qualifications outcomes will be different. Within
the scope of SMPTE/MITC, Education seeks guidance from Industry
by Industry stating what it wants and the Education system delivers
the requisite training via the relevant process.
- c) Certification: This is the system or process
by which people with the relevant prerequisites are assessed and
certified.
- d) Trainers: This is a pool of knowledgeable
people from within the industry who able to impart their knowledge
and experience back into the start of the process.
